Job Title: Property Maintenance Operative
Location: Weston-super-Mare
Salary: £14-£18 per hour, dependant upon experience

We are looking for a reliable, practical, and flexible Handyman / Property Maintenance Operative to help maintain our residential property portfolio across North Somerset. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys varied work, takes pride in a job well done, and is comfortable working independently. It may particularly suit a retired or semi-retired person who wants flexible hours and steady, enjoyable work.
About the Role
You’ll support our property development and management team by carrying out day-to-day maintenance, routine inspections, and small repair tasks across our properties. No two days will be the same — from general repairs and preventative maintenance to collecting materials and helping prepare properties between tenancies.
Typical Tasks Include:
- Replacing taps and showers
- Basic carpentry (e.g., fitting shelves, skirting boards, adjusting doors)
- Painting and decorating
- General small repairs and maintenance
- Conducting routine inspections and preventative maintenance across our properties
- Light gardening and outdoor maintenance (e.g., tidying pathways, minor hedge trimming, clearing leaves)
- Picking up and collecting materials from merchants for other trades
- Supporting our wider team during refurbishments
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Practical, hands-on, and willing to turn their hand to a variety of tasks
- Reliable, trustworthy, and able to work independently
- Personable and comfortable attending occupied rental homes
- Flexible with working hours
- A safe and careful worker with strong attention to detail
Requirements
- Full clean UK driving licence
- Ability to drive either your own van or a company van
- Basic tools preferred (specialist tools/materials supplied as needed)
- Previous handyman or maintenance experience is beneficial, but not essential if you’re confident and capable
